In the 11th minute Florian Capasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durval Guerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute Merusca F&P - CIMZ were awarded a corner. Fabian Meleșcanu went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Merusca F&P - CIMZ's Fabian Meleșcanu to fire away a dangerous shot which Durval Guerra despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Durval Guerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florian Capasso in the 20th minute of play. Florian Capasso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Durval Guerra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. In the 25th match minute, Merusca F&P - CIMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fábio Trevisan to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcinho Sabóia in the 47th minute of play forced Icoara Football Club's goalkeeper Durval Guerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Merusca F&P - CIMZ were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Florian Capasso struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Durval Guerra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merusca F&P - CIMZ. Durval Guerra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Florian Capasso's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Florian Capasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Through an outstanding action, after 59 minutes, Durval Guerra successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 66 minutes, Iuri Ortiz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Icoara Football Club and the Merusca F&P - CIMZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Icoara Football Club's Iuri Ortiz got a free kick in the 66th minute. Merusca F&P - CIMZ made a substitution. Roberto Bolt replaced Pedrinho Paranaense.
