The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the game, BRASIL.Sp's Eusébio Barros nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Durval Guerra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 9 minutes into the match, Erik Antunes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Guilherme Marques. BRASIL.Sp's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Erik Antunes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Icoara Football Club's Durval Guerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusébio Barros in the 12th minute of play. BRASIL.Sp's Luís Guilherme Marques proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save BRASIL.Sp from getting a goal against them. Fagondo Vasquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Durval Guerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. BRASIL.Sp's Luís Guilherme Marques proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save BRASIL.Sp from getting a goal against them. Eusébio Barros blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Durval Guerra having to make a save. A collision led to BRASIL.Sp getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Eusébio Barros hit a great ball. In the 26th minute, Fagondo Vasquez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Durval Guerra was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Luís Guilherme Marques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erik Antunes in the 30th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, BRASIL.Sp's goal looked a bit too open when Erik Antunes came free, but Luís Guilherme Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 32 minutes, Luís Guilherme Marques successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Durval Guerra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fagondo Vasquez's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. The audience was convinced that Fagondo Vasquez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Durval Guerra was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fagondo Vasquez in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Durval Guerra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Durval Guerra didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eusébio Barros went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. After 42 played minutes BRASIL.Sp got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Corrêa. Eusébio Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Durval Guerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Murilo Silveira hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Durval Guerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fagondo Vasquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.
The wind increased when Dito Ramos made the kick off in the second half. Durval Guerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fagondo Vasquez in the 55th minute of play. Fagondo Vasquez might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Durval Guerra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fagondo Vasquez ran back to his position shaking his head. Durval Guerra was a little too slow when Fagondo Vasquez got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 1-5. The supporters of BRASIL.Sp booed when Icoara Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Belmiro Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute of the match Durval Campidelis shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Durval Guerra showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 68th minute, BRASIL.Sp's Reynaldo Rossi dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-6. With a little luck, Icoara Football Club's Durval Guerra got control of the ball when Hugo Corrêa tried to sneak it across the goal line. The attack was good, but when Belmiro Cabral in the 73rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. BRASIL.Sp made a substitution. Marcel Sanches replaced Fagondo Vasquez. 76 minutes into the match, Almir Matos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Durval Guerra. Icoara Football Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Almir Matos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-7. 84 minutes into the game, Adriano Camargo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Icoara Football Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BRASIL.Sp the free kick. After 84 played minutes Icoara Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Adriano Camargo. With a little luck, Icoara Football Club's Durval Guerra got control of the ball when Marcel Sanches tried to sneak it across the goal line. Icoara Football Club's defense didn't have a chance, in the 89th minute, when Marcel Sanches scored to the left of an out of position Durval Guerra, making the score, 1-8. 93 minutes into the match, Icoara Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Eusébio Barros came free, but Durval Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute BRASIL.Sp were awarded a corner. Durval Campidelis went to the cornerflag to take it. Durval Campidelis made a great header on BRASIL.Sp's corner, it was just that Icoara Football Club's Durval Guerra managed to reach the ball for a save. Durval Guerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Rossi, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. BRASIL.Sp's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
