In the 25th match minute, Icoara Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Murilo Silveira to maneuver through the defense. If Ronalds McDonald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute Ronalds McDonald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durval Guerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronalds McDonald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durval Guerra having to interfere. If Rodrigo Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the match, Icoara Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Ronalds McDonald came free, but Durval Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronalds McDonald in the 38th minute of play forced Icoara Football Club's goalkeeper Durval Guerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Durval Guerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronalds McDonald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 40 minutes into the game, Belmiro Cabral was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Icoara Football Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Desportivo Coala the free kick. Icoara Football Club's Durval Guerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronalds McDonald in the 41st minute of play. The Desportivo Coala fans' excitement grew in the 46th match minute when Desportivo Coala's Ronalds McDonald looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After the first half Desportivo Coala were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ronalds McDonald stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Narciso Paulista could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Durval Guerra made a huge save. Ronalds McDonald's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 57thth minute, Durval Guerra skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronalds McDonald in the 58th minute of play forced Icoara Football Club's goalkeeper Durval Guerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adriano Camargo hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilvan Azevedo got free with Durval Guerra in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Durval Guerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronalds McDonald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronalds McDonald in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Durval Guerra saved Icoara Football Club from getting behind. In the 84th minute, Desportivo Coala's Ronalds McDonald dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. Ronalds McDonald was extremely unlucky when he, in the 92nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 94 played minutes Icoara Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Belmiro Cabral. The Icoara Football Club fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Desportivo Coala were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
