After 2 played minutes Mexilhão F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Germano Pernambucano. Abel de Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Mexilhão F. C.'s Intxixu Porregimon got control of the ball when Cássio Ferraz tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 7th minute of the match Olivedos got a corner. Mexilhão F. C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luisinho Ceresso ran over to the corner to take the kick. Luís Novaes made a great header on Olivedos's corner, it was just that Mexilhão F. C.'s Intxixu Porregimon managed to reach the ball for a save. Olivedos's attentive Luisinho Ceresso managed to snatch the ball when Ernesto Félix made a throw-in in the 10th minute of the game. 11 minutes into the match, Mexilhão F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Abel de Godoi came free, but Intxixu Porregimon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cássio Ferraz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Intxixu Porregimon came out and tried to block the shot, but Cássio Ferraz slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 15th minute. Abel de Godoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Intxixu Porregimon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute Ronaldinho Romero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abelardo Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olivedos's Abelardo Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldinho Romero in the 20th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Olivedos's Abel de Godoi got a free kick in the 21st minute. Intxixu Porregimon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cássio Ferraz, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After 26 played minutes Mexilhão F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Kacper Jaworski. Intxixu Porregimon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel de Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mexilhão F. C.'s Intxixu Porregimon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Mexilhão F. C. from getting a goal against them. Anaia Barba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abelardo Maranhense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th minute of the match Mexilhão F. C. got a corner. Olivedos's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Anaia Barba ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Anaia Barba almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Olivedos's Abelardo Maranhense did a great save. In the 41st minute Anaia Barba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abelardo Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Magno Sampaio during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Mexilhão F. C. booed when Olivedos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Magno Sampaio didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Olivedos's Rômulo Custódio was substituted for Osvaldinho Veiga. The wind increased when Anaia Barba made the kick off in the second half. Abelardo Maranhense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldinho Romero in the 61st minute of play. Anaia Barba made in the 64th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Abel de Lara however managed to control. When Ronaldinho Romero came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Mexilhão F. C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronaldinho Romero couldn't finish the play. 66 minutes into the match, Cássio Ferraz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Intxixu Porregimon. Mexilhão F. C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cássio Ferraz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Ronaldinho Romero was extremely unlucky when he, in the 68th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 71st minute, Germano Pernambucano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Intxixu Porregimon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel de Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Mexilhão F. C.'s zone, Abel de Godoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Intxixu Porregimon came out of the goal and Abel de Godoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Olivedos fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mexilhão F. C. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
