Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Durvalino Soeiro kicked off to start the match. After 2nd play minutes Durvalino Soeiro shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Jonathan Ferrant and just under the crossbar into goal. If Gustavo Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8th minute of the match Betão Torres sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant skillfully saved the ball. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by SANTOS F.C's Abel Neto. But to his dismay, Abel Neto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The supporters of Venezuela booed when SANTOS F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Neto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Durvalino Soeiro in the 25th minute of the match. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 34 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Proença came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cauã Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Abel Neto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Daniel Portillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half SANTOS F.C were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. Camilo Gaos charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Camilo Gaos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SANTOS F.C booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Durvalino Soeiro took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Abel Neto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Neto in the 67th minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abel Neto. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cauã Domingues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Cauã Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rigoberto Mina hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 93rd minute, Daniel Portillo had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. SANTOS F.C's Kaká Magalhães was substituted for Daniel Portillo. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Durvalino Soeiro was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 96th minute. SANTOS F.C's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When the match was over SANTOS F.C could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Venezuela throughout the match.
