In the 18th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcial Lordi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcial Lordi came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo. But to his dismay, Lautaro Mancebo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After 20 played minutes RIVER got a freekick which was hit by Eric Târban. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 29th minute of play forced RIVER's goalkeeper Marcial Lordi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eric Târban. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 32nd minute of play forced RIVER's goalkeeper Marcial Lordi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Niki Lauda was the one to do the kick off. Giovanni Lenhardt made a great header on RIVER's corner, it was just that Mexico's Dante Lacasa managed to reach the ball for a save. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Marcial Lordi made a huge save. RIVER's defense didn't have a chance, in the 64th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo scored to the left of an out of position Marcial Lordi, making the score, 1-4. The supporters of RIVER booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Leoz didn't get a good kick on the ball.
