With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Best in the 12th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. George Best struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Virtual Aces. A collision led to Virtual Aces getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Teodosio Fidencio hit a great ball. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Virtual Aces's goalkeeper Joseph Danielsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 17th minute by Felix Montenegro got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Joseph Danielsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teodosio Fidencio during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph Danielsson having to interfere. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Petersson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Victor Petersson to strike the kick off in the second half. Denver Light received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Best in the 92nd minute of play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
