After 16 minutes of play, Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aron Dahlbom was left in no man's land by his defense there! Aron Dahlbom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Escribano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jaime Cazalla struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Aron Dahlbom didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. The supporters of MAFFIAN booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Francisco Seco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Aron Dahlbom made a huge save. Uruguay's attentive Alberto Gisbert managed to snatch the ball when Kristoffer Nyberg made a throw-in in the 39th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 39th minute of play forced MAFFIAN's goalkeeper Aron Dahlbom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A well-hit corner resulted in Camilo Franco heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Francisco Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aron Dahlbom having to interfere. Alberto Gisbert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Thomas Wassberg to strike the kick off in the second half. A throw-in in the 92nd minute of the game was made by Michel Kjellkvist with Torgny Mogren as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Joaquin Gayoso made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Torgny Mogren sent off a good shot on target. Maximiliano Escribano might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aron Dahlbom. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maximiliano Escribano ran back to his position shaking his head. If Torgny Mogren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
