Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robustiano Clementi in the 24th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Vista Alegre FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Zorita came free, but Ronaldo de Moraes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ronaldo de Moraes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after Vista Alegre FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Luca Zorita managed to volley towards the net. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Felix Luque got a free kick in the 44th minute. A collision led to Vista Alegre FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Belo Ponta hit a great ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dudu Magalhães stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Joel Gaona hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vista Alegre FC's Belo Ponta got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lautaro Mancebo scored 1-1 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ronaldo de Moraes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 61st minute of play forced Vista Alegre FC's goalkeeper Ronaldo de Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ronaldo de Moraes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vista Alegre FC made a substitution. Lex Nelis replaced Igor Souza. Vista Alegre FC's Ronaldo de Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 72nd minute of play. The supporters of Mexico booed when Vista Alegre FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jordy Hoes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th minute, Jordy Hoes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ronaldo de Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After some careless play in the Vista Alegre FC defense, Facundo Cadaval kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ronaldo de Moraes. The Vista Alegre FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ronaldo de Moraes should have stopped the shot. In the 88th minute Norberto de Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Belo Ponta in the 90th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Mexico's Luca Zorita.
