Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th minute Ünal Yasık shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Ertan Akağan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, 68Aksarayspor's Oğuzcan Ülgen got a free kick in the 15th minute. 68Aksarayspor's Ertan Akağan got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ertan Akağan might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ertan Akağan ran back to his position shaking his head. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ertan Akağan in the 25th minute of play. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 28th minute, when Ertan Akağan scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 2-0. Ertan Akağan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Servet Bahçıvan having to interfere. Ertan Akağan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Feliciano Poza in the 43 minute of the game. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ertan Akağan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
