Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martin Crețu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. Stiinta-Univ.'s Martin Crețu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 8th minute of play. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Okan Koc sent off a good shot on target. Martin Crețu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 17th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Stiinta-Univ.'s Shi Ming Sheng slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rolando Noboa. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Stiinta-Univ. made a substitution. Valeriu Morovan replaced Okan Koc. In the 58th minute, Stiinta-Univ.'s Elari Jutt seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Elari Jutt the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Stiinta-Univ. protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Elari Jutt had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Elari Jutt hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Peru's Luz Tejedor got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Martin Crețu was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Luz Tejedor capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Luz Tejedor really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. Aurel Panait received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Rolando Noboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Martin Crețu in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Milagros Fraga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Stiinta-Univ.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eliseo Mina ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Eliseo Mina almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Stiinta-Univ.'s Martin Crețu did a great save. Stiinta-Univ.'s Martin Crețu couldn't get a good grip on the ball when Eliseo Mina shot the distance nicking the right pole and went into goal in the 93rd minute, 1-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Rafael Gallo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Rafael Gallo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martin Crețu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Stiinta-Univ. supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Peru's performance. The match ended with a win for Peru.
