Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Axel Tasis started the match with the kick off. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Silvano Casanova kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. 9 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Riki Čapo came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from John Skytt went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Damian Bernabel kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 18th minute, Riki Čapo had to leave the field with a concussion. Juan Rubio's late challenge caught a NECKER49's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Rubio helped the player get up and apologised. NECKER49 made a substitution. Isidoro Fagondo replaced Riki Čapo. In the 20th minute Silvano Casanova shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Silvano Casanova managed to get in a good position for a shot. NECKER49's supporters rose to their feet, but Silvano Casanova was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 26 minutes of play, NECKER49's Silvano Casanova made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! 30 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Isidoro Fagondo. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Skytt in the 31st minute of play. 32 minutes had been played when some careless play by Costa Rica's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Basilio Hegoi was slow to take the kick. During this time NECKER49's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Basilio Hegoi got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Benito Sanz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Through an outstanding action, after 34 minutes, Benito Sanz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 36th minute, when John Skytt scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 5-0. Silvano Casanova's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Benito Sanz firmly grabbed it by the left post. Alan Moruga hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Juan Rubio was shown his second yellow card after 41 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. 40 minutes into the game, one of Costa Rica:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Basilio Hegoi placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! In the 46th minute, Silvano Casanova left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The NECKER49 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell John Skytt to make the kick off. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by NECKER49's John Skytt. But to his dismay, John Skytt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Uriel Larpe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. In the 62nd minute Uriel Larpe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Silvano Casanova had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 69th minute, Axel Tasis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 70 minutes, Basilio Hegoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. NECKER49's supporters crossed their fingers, but Basilio Hegoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvano Casanova, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 73rd minute John Skytt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, John Skytt notched a goal, 9-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Skytt in the 79th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute, Isidoro Fagondo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 10-0. In the 84th minute, Björn-Torben Kappel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maximino Hitz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 85th minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Isidoro Fagondo came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when John Skytt came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. John Skytt scored 11-0 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling John Skytt in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Silvano Casanova's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 94th minute of the game.
