Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 8th minute after Zuberbühler FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 10th minute of the game. One of Zuberbühler FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ecuador:s goal. Adan Mouricio hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute of play forced Zuberbühler FC's goalkeeper Cipriano Elazar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho scored 0-3 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cipriano Elazar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 27th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cipriano Elazar was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Cipriano Elazar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cipriano Elazar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cipriano Elazar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Gustavo Cordaryal kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Cipriano Elazar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Agustín Saelices put it in 0-5 from a short distance just to the right of Cipriano Elazar. Cipriano Elazar was a little too slow when Cristian Sancho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 0-6. Cipriano Elazar was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Felix Montenegro showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-8 in the 72 minute of play. Cipriano Elazar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 76th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Zuberbühler FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Cipriano Elazar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montes got a free kick in the 80th minute. 88 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cipriano Elazar. Cristian Sancho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-9. Cristian Sancho scored 0-10 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cipriano Elazar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Zuberbühler FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
