After a rather tough play, Fetiyerd's Fernan Arraz got a free kick in the 15th minute. Montes Quevedo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When the match clock showed 69 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Alberto Tafalla sped through Fetiyerd's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Montes Quevedo. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Montes Quevedo made a huge save. Lorenzo Cazalla was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 81 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. One of Mexico:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Fetiyerd:s goal. Severiano Rua shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 93rd match minute, Fetiyerd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arjen Robben to maneuver through the defense. Mexico's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
