Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gigel Tilea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gigel Tilea. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Felix Montes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gigel Tilea quite easily take care of the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gigel Tilea narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Academia Rio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dumitru Pantelimon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gigel Tilea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 34th minute of the match, Olimpiu Dichiseanu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Julio Vera was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Sergiu Coșeriu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. A collision led to Academia Rio getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Nicolae Hizo hit a great ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Felix Montenegro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 55 minutes into the match, Academia Rio's Sergiu Coșeriu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Gigel Tilea despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gigel Tilea came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristian Sancho slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 64th minute. Sergiu Coșeriu took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gigel Tilea having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Gigel Tilea in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 80 minutes Academia Rio's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Virgil Şimonca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Nicolae Hizo was slow to take the kick. During this time Academia Rio's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 84th minute of play forced Academia Rio's goalkeeper Gigel Tilea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 85th minute. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olimpiu Dichiseanu in the 96th minute of play. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
