The audience thought a goal was coming when Fedele Scirea got free with Dante Lacasa in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Naci Şehzat having to interfere. In the 85th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonardo Leoz to maneuver through the defense. Joel Gaona received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Naci Şehzat came out and tried to block the shot, but Joel Gaona slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 87th minute. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Luca Rouco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Naci Şehzat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The CLUB ROSE GARDEN fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mexico were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
