The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nojus Bikas in the 17th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Kings's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Haşim Batüralp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eliseo Mina shot from long distance in the 90th minute, but Haşim Batüralp was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Rafael Gallo scored 1-3 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Haşim Batüralp, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Peru had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
