Jayson Burnett was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 7th minute Benjamin Norton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Jayson Burnett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After 16th play minutes Lautaro Mancebo shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Jayson Burnett and just under the crossbar into goal. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Jayson Burnett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Luca Rouco hit a great ball. In the 31st minute, Joel Gaona left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. Jayson Burnett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the River tu grato nombre defense, Luca Rouco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jayson Burnett. The River tu grato nombre fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jayson Burnett should have stopped the shot. Alberto Tafalla took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jayson Burnett. Jayson Burnett dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-7. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jayson Burnett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 45th minute of play. In the 47th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jayson Burnett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Mexico were leading 0-7. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Luca Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Luca Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jayson Burnett breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 53rd minute, Alberto Tafalla made a precise shot to the right of Jayson Burnett. River tu grato nombre's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-8. In the 57th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jayson Burnett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, River tu grato nombre's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Jayson Burnett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Joel Gaona kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jayson Burnett. That made the score 0-9 in the 71 minute of play. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jayson Burnett came out and tried to block the shot, but Lautaro Mancebo slotted it home off the left post making it 0-10 in the 74th minute. 81 minutes into the game, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jayson Burnett made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-11. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamin Norton in the 89th minute of the match. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Connor Rose in the 92nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Luca Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Luca Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jayson Burnett breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mexico's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
