Spectators: 49 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Honduras's Edmundo Espiga started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the match, Sid Chadwick had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sid Chadwick was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Xu Yun Quan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 14th minute, Xu Yun Quan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C. A. Independiente fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Milagros Cabal hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xu Yun Quan, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 0-5 became the score in the 21st minute when Kerry Sellers elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Valentín Carvallo hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. C. A. Independiente's Eric Snowden got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Erberk Müftüoğlu got a throw-in 27 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Claudio Marangoni. 27 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Kerry Sellers came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfredo Felder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute of the game Erberk Müftüoğlu made a throw-in which Xu Yun Quan played forward. In the 32nd minute Xu Yun Quan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valentín Carvallo kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. The Honduras players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. C. A. Independiente were winning 0-5.

After 52 minutes Honduras's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eric Snowden who took care of the corner kick. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Ryszard Prusinowski advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-6 in the 52nd minute. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Emanuel Ocampo hit a great ball. Lautaro Navarro was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Eric Snowden. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kerry Sellers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kerry Sellers in the 61st minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erberk Müftüoğlu made in the 66th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Melvin Ruffin however managed to control. When C. A. Independiente's Erberk Müftüoğlu got a free kick in the 74th minute. Edmundo Espiga's late challenge caught a C. A. Independiente's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edmundo Espiga helped the player get up and apologised. In the 83rd minute, Edmundo Espiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kerry Sellers, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Sidney Forbes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The C. A. Independiente players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
