Marcos Cotilla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fernando Pinho got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Inácio Marquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 40th minute of the match. In the 44th match minute, Dinamo Colorado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Pinho to maneuver through the defense. Tarcisio Mesquita charged in rather forcefully in the 48th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 67th minute of the match Panama got a corner. Dinamo Colorado's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag.
