Honduras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ЦСКА the free kick. After some careless play in the Honduras defense, Belcho Hlebarov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lautaro Navarro. The Honduras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lautaro Navarro should have stopped the shot. After 20 played minutes ЦСКА got a freekick which was hit by Toncho Súrbinski. After 21 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Villa. Lyuboslav Popinski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lautaro Navarro having to interfere. After a rather tough play, ЦСКА's Ivelin Ananiev got a free kick in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 27th minute of play forced ЦСКА's goalkeeper Anzhelo Gerushin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anzhelo Gerushin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 29th minute of play. In the 58th match minute, ЦСКА was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bilyan Fudulov to maneuver through the defense. Moises Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anzhelo Gerushin having to interfere.
