Will Muralhas had in the 10thth minute some difficulties stopping Jaime Cazalla's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Francisco Seco might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Will Muralhas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Francisco Seco ran back to his position shaking his head. SE Palmeiras's Will Muralhas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 13th minute of play. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind SE Palmeiras's goalkeeper Will Muralhas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisco Seco to make the kick off.
