When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Daniel Zorita sped through Peñaloza's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Zarco Figueira. 10 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zarco Figueira. Peñaloza's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simon Oihan in the 16th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Blasi got free with Julio Vera in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 24 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Blasi came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute of the match Peñaloza got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eduardo Castro ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Cristian Sancho hit a great ball. Zarco Figueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Blasi in the 51st minute of play. 52 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zarco Figueira. After a defensive mix-up in Peñaloza's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zarco Figueira came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Zarco Figueira made a huge save. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zarco Figueira having to interfere. In the 83rd match minute, Peñaloza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robert Dominguez to maneuver through the defense. When the match had been going on for 84 minutes Daniel Zorita shot a great shot from long distance. It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by Zarco Figueira when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. Zarco Figueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 86th minute of play. 88 minutes in the game, Luis Andino fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Zarco Figueira having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Felix Montenegro could shoot a difficult shot in the 90th minute, which Zarco Figueira however easily saved by the left post. In the 91st minute, Felix Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Peñaloza's Zarco Figueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 94th minute of play. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zarco Figueira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. The Peñaloza fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
