An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Saldanha in the 16th minute of play forced Canada's goalkeeper Jax Williamson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rohan Watson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Koby Wright put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Falcão Cunha. In the 23rd minute of the match Canada got a corner. When Carter George, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 23 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Falcão Cunha was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Gracie Barra were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after Canada's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jamey Hankins took the corner. When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Jago Štriker sped through Canada's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jax Williamson. Koby Wright fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Falcão Cunha having to interfere. In the 34th minute Koby Wright shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Falcão Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jax Williamson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jago Štriker, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Canada's zone, Pedro Velloso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jax Williamson came out of the goal and Pedro Velloso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
