Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Squadra Demarchi's Claudinho Pinho started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinho Pinho in the 5th minute of play. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richard Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Squadra Demarchi booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexander Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st minute, Juan Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Claudinho Pinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Juan Rubio hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinho Pinho came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 34 minutes, Ciro Castro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Squadra Demarchi and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. 34 minutes into the game, one of Squadra Demarchi:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Oscar Saldanha went to the wrong direction when Axel Tasis was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Claudinho Pinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The wind increased when Eliseo Noboa made the kick off in the second half. If Kaká Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Juan Rubio fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Juan Rubio a yellow card for diving instead. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kléber Queirós in the 65th minute of play. In the 68th minute Lautaro Puig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 72 minutes, Claudinho Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Squadra Demarchi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudinho Pinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Claudinho Pinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. 76 minutes into the match, Kléber Queirós notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Kaká Simão tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Kléber Queirós stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Kléber Queirós tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eliseo Noboa struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Oscar Saldanha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. Ciro Castro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Oscar Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Aaron Alcocer charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aaron Alcocer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 95 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Alcocer. The Costa Rica fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Squadra Demarchi were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
