After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Normando Palencia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Normando Palencia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. AC Guadalajara's Juan Cazorla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 5th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Laffitte Sanes sent off a good shot on target. Fidel Gomez made a great header on AC Guadalajara's corner, it was just that Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant managed to reach the ball for a save. Juan Cazorla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. When AC Guadalajara's Laffitte Sanes in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. 16 minutes into the match, Laffitte Sanes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant, 1-0. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Normando Palencia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Juan Cazorla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 25th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Laffitte Sanes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Laffitte Sanes sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Normando Palencia sent off a good shot on target. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Laffitte Sanes in the 32nd minute. AC Guadalajara's Jaakoppi Fahlgren got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 36th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. Normando Palencia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by AC Guadalajara's Laffitte Sanes. But to his dismay, Laffitte Sanes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Normando Palencia struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AC Guadalajara. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, AC Guadalajara's Juan Cazorla got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Laffitte Sanes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Laffitte Sanes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. The supporters of Venezuela booed when AC Guadalajara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lawrence Starling didn't get a good kick on the ball. Laffitte Sanes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 74 minutes into the match, Laffitte Sanes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Laffitte Sanes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Normando Palencia kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Lawrence Starling made in the 81st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Jaakoppi Fahlgren however managed to control. Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaakoppi Fahlgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, AC Guadalajara's Laffitte Sanes got a free kick in the 94th minute. There was no doubt that AC Guadalajara were the better team. AC Guadalajara's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
