Canada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan Dixon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Onur-Recep Kıvrak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filip Edwards, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There was no doubt that Canada were the better team. Canada's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
