In the 20th minute Henning Valler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th minute, Fortun Roca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hibai Olano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillermo Fontirroig, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Guillermo Fontirroig notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Sperides's Hibai Olano. Hibai Olano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 29 minutes into the match, Sperides's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Hibai Olano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hibai Olano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thiago Pliego made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lucero Mezquita in the 44th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Sperides's Lucas Darling was substituted for Roberto Peto. Sperides's Adriano Santalla was substituted for Henning Valler. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lucas Darling in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thiago Pliego saved Chile from getting behind. Pedro Indiano hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After 71 played minutes, Sperides's Isaac Carballido shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Thiago Pliego came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sperides reached it. Fortun Roca hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Orlando Casaus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mariano Lacasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hibai Olano having to make a save. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hibai Olano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Darling in the 87th minute of the match. After 96 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Lacasa. For all the effort they put into the match, the Chile players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sperides.
