The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Floresta Club U18 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hudson de Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Puig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Axel Tasis made a kick off. Maurício Araújo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lautaro Puig went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. When Jeremias Peixoto fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Floresta Club U18's protests and gave Jeremias Peixoto a yellow card for diving instead. In the 56th match minute, Floresta Club U18 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeremias Peixoto to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 58th minute of play forced Floresta Club U18's goalkeeper Maurício Araújo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Floresta Club U18's Agnaldo Vaz quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alan Moruga, made in the 81st minute of the game. 83 minutes into the match, Jonas de Queiroz dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benito Sanz, 2-1. 86 minutes into the game, Lautaro Puig cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Maurício Araújo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The throw-in from Hugo Ferrant in the 91st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Floresta Club U18's Cafu Tinoco. Lautaro Puig made in the 92nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Alan Moruga immediately put the ball in play. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Costa Rica were victorious despite being under pressure from Floresta Club U18 for much of the match.
