In the 4th minute, Folkert Engelaar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Folkert Engelaar in the 7th minute. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Freek Som, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th minute of the match, Freek Som tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonathan Ferrant saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The crowd rose to their feet as Leiden Spor Kulubu's Joost de Zaaijer slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 1-0 after 17 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Folkert Engelaar in the 20th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Freek Som came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Leiden Spor Kulubu getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Timo Staarman hit a great ball. Folkert Engelaar helped the player get up and apologised. Venezuela made a substitution. Enrique Pozo replaced Jose Correa. Leiden Spor Kulubu were furious when Iwan van Heiningen was red carded, 44 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Harry Mik breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 65 minutes in the game Dries Muskee did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Cosmin Toacsen. In the 66th minute of the match, Patricio Costa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Harry Mik saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Dries Muskee hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Leiden Spor Kulubu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dries Muskee didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79thth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Leiden Spor Kulubu's Harry Mik was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leiden Spor Kulubu's Freek Som got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Damien Korfs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
