Arvin Hökkvist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lautaro Mancebo came free with the goalkeeper in the 8th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Arvin Hökkvist could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anoush Khalatbari in the 9th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the match, American Airlines's goalkeeper Arvin Hökkvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darnell Metcalf in the 21st minute of the match. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabio Cannata in the 23rd minute of play. Bennvar Nobel took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Arvin Hökkvist came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Joel Gaona. But to his dismay, Joel Gaona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Joel Gaona struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Arvin Hökkvist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. Alberto Tafalla kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Facundo Cadaval charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Facundo Cadaval the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fabio Cannata took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dante Lacasa. Mexico's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

American Airlines's Carlo Trujillo was substituted for Gabriel Rossi. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anoush Khalatbari to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Gaona in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arvin Hökkvist saved American Airlines from getting behind. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by American Airlines's Anoush Khalatbari. But to his dismay, Anoush Khalatbari quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. 58 minutes into the match, American Airlines's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Arvin Hökkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 60 minutes, Anoush Khalatbari managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. American Airlines's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anoush Khalatbari was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arvin Hökkvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 68th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, American Airlines's Dante Lacasa threw himself towards the right post 70 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bennvar Nobel, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of Mexico booed when American Airlines was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bennvar Nobel didn't get a good kick on the ball. American Airlines's Jonah Ryan was substituted for Bennvar Nobel. A collision led to American Airlines getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Bennvar Nobel hit a great ball. In the 89th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arvin Hökkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Luca Zorita got a free kick in the 95th minute. 97 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Jonah Ryan came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonah Ryan in the 97th minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
