Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Kai Østbye sent off a good shot on target. 8 minutes into the match, Brufoss IL's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Borys Witek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kai Østbye received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emanuel Markhams short, quick shot in the 12thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Borys Witek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 13th minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Markham in the 15th minute of play. Borys Witek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 19th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Kent Remme got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 23 played minutes Brufoss IL got a freekick which was hit by Jan-Kenneth Heistad. Borys Witek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Brufoss IL's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Borys Witek came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jan-Kenneth Heistad hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Borys Witek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Emanuel Markham tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute Kent Remme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emanuel Markham's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Julio Vera firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Jan-Kenneth Heistad fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brufoss IL's protests and gave Jan-Kenneth Heistad a yellow card for diving instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Emanuel Markham made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Emanuel Markham's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. After 59 minutes Brufoss IL's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Borys Witek in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Borys Witek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 61st minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Borys Witek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 73rd minute of play. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Borys Witek. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kent Remme in the 80th minute of play. When Luis Andino fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Luis Andino a yellow card for diving instead. Luis Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Emanuel Markham recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Borys Witek having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ecuador fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 92nd minute. Penalty! The referee gave Brufoss IL a penalty, 94 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Kent Remme, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. 2-0. In the 97th minute Kent Remme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, Brufoss IL could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
