Camilo Gisbert made in the 45th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Luis Andino.

Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fred Iemberge in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fred Iemberge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Fred Iemberge might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fred Iemberge ran back to his position shaking his head. Ruben Barajas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oscar Mulero's Evstati Shushev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Oscar Mulero from getting a goal against them. In the 80th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Oscar Mulero's Evstati Shushev managed to reach the ball for a save. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Zamora in the 82nd minute of play. A very good chance for a goal. Ecuador played a much better game than Oscar Mulero and deserved their victory. The Oscar Mulero players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
