Kaká Simão charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kaká Simão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kléber Queirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 86 played minutes, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Oscar Saldanha came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Honduras reached it. Kléber Queirós kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 90thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Honduras's keeper Lautaro Navarro was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudinho Pinho in the 92nd minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Honduras's Christian Sancho quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Claudinho Loyola, made in the 94th minute of the game. Honduras were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Squadra Demarchi to leave the ground with a draw.
