Celedonio Dominguez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Pedro Manzanares made a huge save. Francesco Totti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Hammarby IF's Francesco Totti slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pedro Manzanares. That made the score 1-0 after 18 minutes of play. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Colombia from getting a goal against them. When Bosse Larsson fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Celedonio Dominguez made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Francesco Totti notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Colombia's Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
