Axel Tasis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eliseo Noboa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Augusto do Valle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, FC Saubrigues's Mathys Mora got control of the ball when Eliseo Noboa tried to sneak it across the goal line. 12 minutes into the game, Lautaro Puig was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Saubrigues the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Augusto do Valle in the 14th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Žydrūnas Danielius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Saubrigues's Žydrūnas Danielius suffered a sore thigh after 22 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 22 minutes, Efrain Moruga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the FC Saubrigues players grew even worse after the yellow card. FC Saubrigues made a substitution. Hamza Loaëc replaced Žydrūnas Danielius. Carlos Augusto do Valle took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 38 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Hamza Loaëc came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Jean-Pierre Bérot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hamza Loaëc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Costa Rica players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Saubrigues were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. FC Saubrigues's Mathys Mora played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Puig in the 52nd minute of play. 53 minutes into the match, Carlos Augusto do Valle dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benito Sanz, 0-2. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a free kick in the 56th minute. In the 58th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Ferrant to maneuver through the defense. Enginsu Lütfullah could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. Hamza Loaëc took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. The referee felt a red card was in order, 84 minutes into the game, when Raphaël Giacometti put in a rough tackle. After 85 played minutes FC Saubrigues got a freekick which was hit by Raphaël Giacometti. Mathys Mora showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. 90 minutes in the game, Erwan Tripier fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Benito Sanz having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Augusto do Valle got free with Benito Sanz in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 96 minutes into the match, Eliseo Noboa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mathys Mora. FC Saubrigues's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eliseo Noboa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. The FC Saubrigues supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Saubrigues would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
