Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aykut Aşkın, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karol Panasewicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to USA getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Edward Mcdonald hit a great ball. Blue Mountain State's Robin Sharma proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Blue Mountain State from getting a goal against them. Aykut Aşkın received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Marco Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marco Day didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Karol Panasewicz went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Robin Sharma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cassius Byrne in the 25th minute of the match. Robin Sharma made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Edward Mcdonald sent off a good shot on target. 31 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Tang Yang Le came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robin Sharma stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Monty Rogers's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. USA's Monty Rogers was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 40th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karol Panasewicz in the 43rd minute of play. Robin Sharma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 46th minute of play. In the 47th minute, Karol Panasewicz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cassius Byrne was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Cassius Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robin Sharma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tang Yang Le, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Blue Mountain State's Robin Sharma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cassius Byrne in the 58th minute of play. In the 59th minute Tang Yang Le shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th minute of the match, Tang Yang Le got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marco Day was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A nice corner shot did that Epigonoi Honjas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marco Day quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 76 minutes into the match, Lionel-Andrés Messi notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of USA's Marco Day. Marco Day was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. USA's Khalid Parry was substituted for Monty Rogers. USA's Marco Baker was substituted for Edward Mcdonald. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Vázquez in the 81st minute of play. Luis Vázquez struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Marco Day didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blue Mountain State. In the 88th minute, Hong Shi Wei got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Blue Mountain State's Lionel-Andrés Messi got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Robin Sharma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sam Campbell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rd match minute, Blue Mountain State was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lionel-Andrés Messi to maneuver through the defense. Luis Vázquez struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Marco Day didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blue Mountain State. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Blue Mountain State had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
