The referee felt a red card was in order, 7 minutes into the game, when Txema Cifuentes put in a rough tackle. After 7 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Vodka Stars 1949! The goalkeeper, Generoso Beloki, was totally fooled by Chile's Mariano Lacasa, who 8 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. With a little luck, Vodka Stars 1949's Generoso Beloki got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vodka Stars 1949's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mariano Lacasa was slow to take the kick. During this time Chile's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Chile's corner Mariano Lacasa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Generoso Beloki quite easily take care of the ball. Generoso Beloki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Orlando Casaus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute of the match Chile got a corner. Vodka Stars 1949's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mariano Lacasa ran over to the corner to take the kick. After some careless play in the Vodka Stars 1949 defense, Mariano Lacasa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Generoso Beloki. The Vodka Stars 1949 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Generoso Beloki should have stopped the shot. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Generoso Beloki read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Chile's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mariano Lacasa in the 36th minute. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik Véber, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Generoso Beloki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Vodka Stars 1949's Generoso Beloki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 51st minute of play. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Vodka Stars 1949's goalkeeper Generoso Beloki, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 53rd minute, Curcio Alonso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 54 minutes into the match, Vodka Stars 1949's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Generoso Beloki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alifonso Irureta made in the 59th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Nevada Lopez de Toro. Chile's defense didn't have a chance, in the 61st minute, when Paul Geeraerts scored to the left of an out of position Thiago Pliego, making the score, 2-2. Generoso Beloki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 66th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Generoso Beloki. Vodka Stars 1949's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Lacasa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Generoso Beloki. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Vodka Stars 1949 booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Indiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Vodka Stars 1949's Generoso Beloki. Generoso Beloki was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Generoso Beloki read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Chile's Thiago Pliego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. In the 87th minute, Martin Batalla left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vodka Stars 1949 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-3. Vodka Stars 1949's Generoso Beloki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 91st minute of play. 93 minutes into the game, Chile's Mariano Lacasa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Generoso Beloki made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-3. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Chile fans cheered their team off the field, for while Vodka Stars 1949 had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
