The audience thought a goal was coming when Remir Martínez got free with Dante Lacasa in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erik Véber in the 7th minute of the match. Erik Véber took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after Vodka Stars 1949's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Véber in the 14th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vodka Stars 1949's Generoso Beloki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 18th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Erik Véber had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Erik Véber was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paul Geeraerts in the 32nd minute. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucas Montaña, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Nevada Lopez de Toro fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vodka Stars 1949's protests and gave Nevada Lopez de Toro a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Mexico booed when Vodka Stars 1949 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nevada Lopez de Toro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vodka Stars 1949 made a substitution. Casado Castan replaced Nevada Lopez de Toro. Nevada Lopez de Toro kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Generoso Beloki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 45th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. In the 54th minute of the match, Joel Gaona tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Generoso Beloki saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Vodka Stars 1949 made a substitution. Martin Batalla replaced Erik Véber. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Generoso Beloki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 59th minute of the match. 60 minutes into the match, Vodka Stars 1949's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Generoso Beloki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lucas Montaña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. 63 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vodka Stars 1949's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vodka Stars 1949 made a substitution. Santos Valladolid replaced Edmundo London. Generoso Beloki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 68th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Generoso Beloki threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luca Zorita, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of Vodka Stars 1949 booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Rouco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 85th match minute, Vodka Stars 1949 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Santos Valladolid to maneuver through the defense. Generoso Beloki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 88th minute of the match. Dante Lacasa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Martin Batalla went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Facundo Cadaval recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Facundo Cadaval had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Vodka Stars 1949 fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mexico had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
