Finlay Stair was slow to take the kick. During this time Jamaica's players had a chance to rest. Finlay Stair made a great header on Jamaica's corner, it was just that Criciúma Esporte Clube's Evelio Antoniano managed to reach the ball for a save. 9 minutes into the game, Paulo Laurentzi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Demonde Jacobson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 12th minute, Bieito Villaurreta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Criciúma Esporte Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 16th minute, Paulo Laurentzi made a precise shot to the right of Demonde Jacobson. Jamaica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Demonde Jacobson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bieito Villaurreta in the 20th minute of play. Demonde Jacobson came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Criciúma Esporte Clube's Paulo Laurentzi. But to his dismay, Paulo Laurentzi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. After 25 minutes of play, Criciúma Esporte Clube's Paulo Laurentzi made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Demonde Jacobson was left in no man's land by his defense there! 28 minutes into the game, Criciúma Esporte Clube's Paulo Laurentzi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Demonde Jacobson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. 31 minutes into the match, Bieito Villaurreta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Demonde Jacobson. Jamaica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bieito Villaurreta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. Jamaica's Demonde Jacobson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bieito Villaurreta in the 36th minute of play. After some careless play in the Jamaica defense, Bieito Villaurreta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Demonde Jacobson. The Jamaica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Demonde Jacobson should have stopped the shot. In the 42nd match minute, Jamaica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Javan Develder to maneuver through the defense. Bieito Villaurreta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th minute, Paulo Laurentzi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Criciúma Esporte Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-9. After the first half Criciúma Esporte Clube were leading 0-9. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With a little luck, Jamaica's Demonde Jacobson got control of the ball when Paulo Laurentzi tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Jamaica defense, Paulo Laurentzi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Demonde Jacobson. The Jamaica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Demonde Jacobson should have stopped the shot. Demonde Jacobson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bieito Villaurreta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd play minute Paulo Laurentzi came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Demonde Jacobson. 0-12. Jarell Hill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Evelio Antoniano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Demonde Jacobson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Laurentzi in the 69th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Paulo Laurentzi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Demonde Jacobson, 0-13. Demonde Jacobson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Laurentzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Paulo Laurentzi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Demonde Jacobson was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Criciúma Esporte Clube's Paulo Laurentzi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Demonde Jacobson. That made the score 0-14 after 80 minutes of play. Bieito Villaurreta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Demonde Jacobson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Demonde Jacobson was a little too slow when Bieito Villaurreta got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 84th minute. The score was now 0-15. Romon Oliver kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match.
