Oscar Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Claudinho Pinho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. In the 27th minute, Claudinho Pinho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. A collision led to Squadra Demarchi getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Nelson Vidal hit a great ball. 37 minutes into the match, Squadra Demarchi's goalkeeper Oscar Saldanha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Axel Tasis. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alexander Carballo got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 39th minute, Kaká Simão sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Costa Rica's Benito Sanz didn't even have to move. The Costa Rica players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Squadra Demarchi were winning 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Kléber Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Squadra Demarchi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kléber Queirós was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 52 minutes into the match, Squadra Demarchi's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Puig came free, but Oscar Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claudinho Pinho kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Squadra Demarchi's Oscar Saldanha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 63rd minute of play. Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Saldanha having to interfere. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. After 69 minutes, Alan Moruga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Squadra Demarchi players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 69 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kléber Queirós in the 69th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Kléber Queirós could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. Juan Rubio was shown his second yellow card after 77 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Squadra Demarchi's supporters rose to their feet, but Kaká Simão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Squadra Demarchi getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Kaká Simão hit a great ball. 86 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinho Pinho came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
