Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rolando Amorebieta started the match with the kick off. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 2nd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 7th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arkadiusz Banaszak got free with Julio Vera in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hitzeder Manrique in the 12th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 15th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Jacinto Cuadrado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute Rolando Amorebieta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arkadiusz Banaszak in the 28th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Jacinto Cuadrado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 36 played minutes Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Rainerio Obis. Jacinto Cuadrado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Arkadiusz Banaszak tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 46th minute, Luis Andino sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Boca Juniors's Jacinto Cuadrado didn't even have to move. Daniel Zorita hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Arkadiusz Banaszak scored 1-0 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rolando Amorebieta went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Olaf Varela kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Boca Juniors's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hitzeder Manrique in the 64th minute. It was a well-played corner which Lazaro Marin managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hitzeder Manrique in the 67th minute of play. Cristian Sanchos short, quick shot in the 68thth minute got Jacinto Cuadrado to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arkadiusz Banaszak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 76 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Jacinto Cuadrado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 80th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Jacinto Cuadrado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
