The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bayhan Kutay made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Julio Chicote sent off a good shot on target. Alfonso de la Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 7 minutes into the match, Bolivia's Mario Fernandino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bayhan Kutay narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 9 played minutes Alfredo Ferrant rounded Samsunspor's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. 12 minutes into the game, Ismael Tejedor threw the ball into play from the sideline. Samsunspor's Tamer Mengüç quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Bayhan Kutay made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Mario Fernandino sent off a good shot on target. In the 16th play minute Eduardo Fontirroig came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Bayhan Kutay. 2-0. A sloppy throw-in by Joshua Miralles in the 19th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Samsunspor's Seyrani İklim. 24 minutes into the match, Samsunspor's goalkeeper Bayhan Kutay had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eduardo Fontirroig. Bayhan Kutay made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Mario Fernandino sent off a good shot on target. Eduardo Fontirroig in the 29thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bayhan Kutay, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 31st minute, Julio Chicote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eduardo Fontirroig received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bayhan Kutay came out and tried to block the shot, but Eduardo Fontirroig slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 33rd minute. With his leg Bayhan Kutay managed to avoid a goal in the 41stth minute, when Bolivia's Alfonso de la Cruz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Bayhan Kutay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduardo Fontirroig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 45 minutes, Kandemir Uluhan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Samsunspor and the Bolivia players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Samsunspor's Kandemir Uluhan got a free kick in the 45th minute.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Fontirroig in the 54th minute of play forced Samsunspor's goalkeeper Bayhan Kutay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Samsunspor's attentive Tamer Mengüç managed to snatch the ball when Ismael Tejedor made a throw-in in the 58th minute of the game. Bayhan Kutay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Fontirroig in the 59th minute of play. Eduardo Fontirroig's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bayhan Kutay read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Bayhan Kutay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso de la Cruz, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Bayhan Kutay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julio Chicote in the 73rd minute of the match. 79 minutes into the game, Bolivia's Julio Chicote nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bayhan Kutay made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. When Atabey Tükel fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Samsunspor's protests and gave Atabey Tükel a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Bolivia booed when Samsunspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Atabey Tükel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eduardo Fontirroig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bayhan Kutay having to interfere. The throw-in from Francisco Gallo in the 90th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Samsunspor's Tamer Mengüç. A sloppy throw-in by Joshua Miralles in the 92nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Samsunspor's Seyrani İklim. Samsunspor's Tamer Mengüç managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Ismael Tejedor in the 93 minute of the game.
