In the 12th minute Lino Rios shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Óscar Cordoba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute, Lino Rios made a precise shot to the right of Óscar Cordoba. Sporting de Gijón's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 19 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goal looked a bit too open when Lino Rios came free, but Óscar Cordoba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lino Rios in the 25th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Maradona in the 31st minute of play forced AFC FUSION's goalkeeper Roberto Eztebe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Christoff Stocks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Óscar Cordoba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romulo Abilio in the 40th minute of play. After 42 played minutes AFC FUSION got a freekick which was hit by Thiago Silva. Jonatan Maidana hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in AFC FUSION's zone, Saturnino Curcio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roberto Eztebe came out of the goal and Saturnino Curcio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half AFC FUSION were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Matias Bilintx made a kick off. A collision led to Sporting de Gijón getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Alejandro Rufo hit a great ball. The attack was good, but when Christoff Stocks in the 51st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 59th minute, AFC FUSION's Lino Rios dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. In the 69th minute, Matias Bilintx made a precise shot to the right of Roberto Eztebe. AFC FUSION's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Óscar Cordoba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christoff Stocks in the 76th minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, AFC FUSION's goal looked a bit too open when Matias Bilintx came free, but Roberto Eztebe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christoff Stocks scored 1-4 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Óscar Cordoba, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sporting de Gijón made a substitution. Mario Zanabria replaced Venancio Emesto. In the 95th minute, AFC FUSION's Jonatan Maidana seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jonatan Maidana the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of AFC FUSION protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jonatan Maidana had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 94th minute, one of AFC FUSION:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for AFC FUSION. AFC FUSION:s Roberto Eztebe showed great skill when he stopped Saturnino Curcio:s penalty. In the 98th minute, Saturnino Curcio made a precise shot to the right of Roberto Eztebe. AFC FUSION's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4.
