Though ot was a great shot Perros del sur's keeper Eulalio Faron was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. When Matias Bilintx, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 54 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Eulalio Faron was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After 59 minutes Perros del sur's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Saturnino Curcio who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Matias Bilintx got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Eulalio Faron quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 67 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goal looked a bit too open when Sixto Aimar came free, but Óscar Cordoba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
