An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 3rd minute of play forced Desfachatados F.C.'s goalkeeper Esteve Pello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felix Montenegro in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Esteve Pello saved Desfachatados F.C. from getting behind. Eleuterio Ulizes charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eleuterio Ulizes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Desfachatados F.C.'s Eleuterio Ulizes got a free kick in the 8th minute. In the 13th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esteve Pello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Esteve Pello didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When Ecuador's Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Esteve Pello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Desfachatados F.C.'s zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Esteve Pello came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

An unexpected shot in the 62nd minute by Daniel Zorita got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Esteve Pello was a little too slow when Cristian Sancho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 0-4. Desfachatados F.C. made a substitution. Javier Piearres replaced Melquiades Ritchie. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Cambranes in the 72nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Benjamin Cambranes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Esteve Pello in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A very good chance. After 90 played minutes Desfachatados F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Xabel. In the 91st minute, Eleuterio Ulizes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 95 minutes, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
