Thanks to some nice moves John Ryberg could shoot a difficult shot in the 19th minute, which Dante Lacasa however easily saved by the left post. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aniceto Campello, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Teɱperłey Cɨŧy's Erhan İren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 24th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Teɱperłey Cɨŧy's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Erhan İren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Alberto Tafalla made a precise shot to the right of Erhan İren. Teɱperłey Cɨŧy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After a rather tough play, Teɱperłey Cɨŧy's Everardo Cordarell got a free kick in the 35th minute. Erhan İren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aniceto Campello to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Mexico booed when Teɱperłey Cɨŧy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Pacifico didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erhan İren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 87th minute. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Teɱperłey Cɨŧy's goalkeeper Erhan İren, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doriva Britto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 96th minute, Benjamin Valentine hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Mexico supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mexico would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
