Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Tomas Illescas got the match started through his kick off. The supporters of ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Martín Ulloa got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 4th minute. The score was now 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Guillermo Escalona managed to get in a good position for a shot. ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s supporters rose to their feet, but Guillermo Escalona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Juan Benavides made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 11th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humberto Escobar in the 14th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Humberto Escobar put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s Juan Benavides played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 21st minute of play. When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Humberto Escobar sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Martín Ulloa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Humberto Escobar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. In the 31st minute of the game Miguel Pimentel made a throw-in which Humberto Escobar played forward. After 36 minutes, Humberto Escobar made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 40 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Juan Benavides narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Martín Ulloa came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martín Ulloa couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rigoberto Mina during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Rigoberto Mina hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giancarlo Mora in the 47th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Humberto Escobar to make the kick off.
