Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) After a defensive mix-up in La Gallardeta's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Romelio came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paulo Romelio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 11th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Romelio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 16th minute of play forced La Gallardeta's goalkeeper Paulo Romelio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulo Romelio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Apolo Naelio kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After 22 played minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paulo Romelio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ecuador reached it. A collision led to La Gallardeta getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Apolo Naelio hit a great ball. 24 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of La Gallardeta's Paulo Romelio. Paulo Romelio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 33 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paulo Romelio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. 39 minutes into the match, Luis Andino notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of La Gallardeta's Paulo Romelio. Paulo Romelio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 45th minute of the game. One of La Gallardeta:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ecuador:s goal. Paulo Romelio had in the 46thth minute some difficulties stopping Daniel Zorita's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eliseo Illan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, La Gallardeta's Paulo Romelio got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Paulo Romelio to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 59th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 62nd minute, which Paulo Romelio however easily saved by the left post. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paulo Romelio was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristian Sancho showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-7 in the 72 minute of play. Daniel Zorita in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Paulo Romelio, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Paulo Romelio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 81st minute of play. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Paulo Romelio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. After 90 minutes of play La Gallardeta's Apolo Naelio was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Apolo Naelio hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for La Gallardeta. Paulo Romelio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than La Gallardeta.
