Claudinho Pinho scored 0-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jacobo Nores, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Claudinho Pinho struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Jacobo Nores didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Squadra Demarchi. When Kléber Queirós fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Squadra Demarchi's protests and gave Kléber Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th minute, Kléber Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Primitivo Escribano in the 35th minute really tested Oscar Saldanha's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Squadra Demarchi's zone, Jaime Pardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oscar Saldanha came out of the goal and Jaime Pardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Kléber Queirós was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 68 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Squadra Demarchi's Kléber Queirós got a free kick in the 69th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jaime Pardo in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oscar Saldanha saved Squadra Demarchi from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Júnior Meirelles during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Squadra Demarchi getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Júnior Meirelles hit a great ball. 80 minutes into the match, Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oscar Saldanha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Squadra Demarchi's Richard Moura got a free kick in the 94th minute. Although Paraguay had been in control for most of the match, Squadra Demarchi still came away with the win.
